A stunning old olive mill that has been renovated, with rustic charm, beams and beautiful tiling and detail, to make three separate living units, with huge potential for a lifestyle business set-up, in glorious, totally unspoiled countryside.

The property is reached by a track of around 3 kms, and the final km is concrete. The property is made up of three living spaces:

Apartment 1 – 120m2 is reached via a small staircase from within a small courtyard garden which features original mill stones from when the property was a working mill. The front door leads into a large, impressive living room with vaulted ceiling and original beams. The ceiling is painted white and most of the walls are in original stonework.

Patio doors open out onto a large terrace with views of the land, the paddocks and the entrance courtyard. A large wood burning stove forms the centrepiece of the room and at the far end of this room is a small, but functional kitchen area. Double doors lead into a long hallway with an antique log burner at the far end.

On the right is a door to a large shower room, with shower, sink and WC. Also from the hallway is access to three bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms is large, with space for a king sized bed, and all three rooms have fitted wardrobe space.

Apartment 2, 80 m2, accessed through a large, wooden double gate into a huge cobbled patio area which was a part of the original working mill. Double wooden and glazed doors lead into the lounge area (6 x 3 m). A nicely decorated wooden kitchen is attached to the living area. This apartment has two large bedrooms, both large enough to comfortably accommodate king sized beds, and there are two bathrooms, one with bath and overhead shower, the other with a shower unit.

The Casita is set out as a large, open plan living space or studio. The space is 10 m x 8 m and has a big kitchen area with wooden cabinets, living area, and the bedroom area. The unique feature in the casita is the large and luxurious ‘Poolette’ which can be filled with water and used as a plunge pool during hot weather. In the bathroom there is a wet room/shower area, double ‘His and Her’ wash basins and a WC. Outside the casita is a small patio area, which leads around to the swimming pool.

In the middle of the property is a large indoor kitchen/dining area used as the central focal point. This area is 5 x 5 m and has ample worktop space and room for a very large dining table. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large courtyard with a covered, shady outdoor dining space.

There are a number of store rooms and a small stable which offers potential for further development or for housing animals. The swimming pool is surrounded by a decked area and shaded by two large eucalyptus trees.

The land amounts to 35,000 m2 grounds and is planted with 360 olive trees which are rented out to the local farmer in return for a supply of firewood and olive oil each year. This could continue, or the new owners could decide to farm and collect the olives themselves in return for an income.

There are four paddocks which are currently being used to house the alpacas, but could be used to create ornamental or cottage style gardens, a kitchen garden, to plant an orchard, or to house animals.

The Olive Mill is completely off grid and there are 8 solar panels and a system of batteries, plus backup generator which provides electricity to the well water pump. The system provides plenty of electricity for normal living at a very low cost and there is further equipment to develop on site. The well provides an excellent supply of fresh spring water all year.

Within the grounds, which are undulating, there is an area of approximately 5000 m2 that has been fenced off around the mill, making it ideal for anyone who has dogs or other livestock. Currently the owners use the property to breed alpacas and there is an option to include some alpacas in the sale, by negotiation.

This is the perfect property for anyone looking for a lifestyle business concept, it being ideal for rural tourism, yoga retreats, health retreats, an activity holiday business, and so on. There is potential to live and work at this beautiful property, and to invest in your own imagination, enthusiasm and creativity to make a new and more outdoor life!

The mill is located just a 15 minute drive from the pretty town of Montoro, and around 45 minutes from the beautiful city of Cordoba.
